Nigerian international, Peter Ijeh has won his first trophy as Chief Coach of Assyriska BK Football Club in Sweden.
Ijeh led Assyriska BK, a Swedish Division 2 Club to emerge West Goteborg Champion, after they defeated Swedish top division side Utsiktens BK 1-0 in the final of the Väster Götland Cup Wednesday night.
An elated Ijeh, who has been putting his young team together for the forth coming league season in Sweden, showered encomiums on his players.
He said; “Thanks boys, you won this for me as your new head coach after 4 years in consecutive finals. It is for you because you deserve it, by beating a top team in the final. Raise your head up, and move up to the next level”.
Ijeh extended his appreciation to the entire Assyrian BK squad including the back room staff for what he described as ‘a job well executed in the final encounter against the highly rated Utsiktens BK’.
Before he assumed duties as Head Coach of Assyrian BK late last year, Ijeh played for top Nigerian teams; Nitel Football Club and Julius Berger Football Club both of Lagos, and also starred for top Division Clubs in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
