“My husband is cursed, he runs after anything in skirt”, that was how a 42-year-old businesswoman, Mrs Rashidat Odion, narrated her ordeal to an Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Wednesday, 4 April, 2017.
She told the Court while responding to a divorce suit filed by her husband, Odion, over hot temper, that her husband was a woman wrapper.
“My husband is dating both single, married and divorce women, he does not have a taste as he runs after any thing in skirt as if he was cursed. He is even having an affair with my friends, one Mrs Remi Oduoga and our tenant, Iya Success.
“Most times, he always tells me that he was going to a vigil but instead go to Remi’s house or his other concubines houses to pass the night. Whenever I called our Pastor or other members to know if my husband is in the vigil, they always tell me they did not see him,” she said.
The respondent said that their Church regretted in making her husband the father of “Good Women”.
“My husband was ordained as the father of good women but because of his illicit affair with women he was demoted. He left the Church because he was disgraced. The Pastor used him to preach at the Alter, urging him to desist from having affair with girls and women,” she said.
Rashidat said that she was not ready to divorce her husband because she still loves him.
The petitioner, Odion, 60, businessman seek dissolution of his six-year-old marriage without a child, claiming his wife was hot tempered.
“My wife is hot tempered, she always fight or beat up any woman she see me with. Rashidat is always frustrating my life, fighting and accusing me of dating every woman she sees me with. She always tells me the woman to talk with and which I should not talk to.
“She once hit me with a plank and tore my clothes in public because she saw me talking to a woman. There was a Sunday she fought with a woman in our Church during the service accusing the woman of dating me. Because of that embarrassment, I stopped going to that Church. She also traced me to the Church and accused me of dating any woman there.
He said that his wife was an ingrate that he built a shop for her in front of his house to be selling some provision. He begged the court to terminate the six-year-old marriage which has not produced any child.
The Court President, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case to May 16 for further hearing.
