Housewife Aborts Pregnancies For 2 Of Her Lovers

A six-year-old marriage is on the brink of collapse after a housewife, Mrs. Tolulope Shittu aborted two pregnancies for two of her lovers.’s correspondent was on ground when Mr. Kolawole Shittu, told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos that his wife, Tolulope, aborted the pregnancies for her lovers.

The 40-year-old businessman said that his wife, Tolulope, with whom he had two children was promiscuous.

“My wife confessed that she had aborted two pregnancies for two of her boyfriends who got her pregnant.

“She made the confession when she fell sick and after taking her to many hospitals for treatment to no avail, I took her to church for prayers.

“It was during prayers that the pastor received a message from God, that my wife had committed adultery.

“The pastor told her that for her to get well, she must confess and that was when she confessed that she had aborted babies within three months for two of her lovers,” he said.

The petitioner described his wife as a thief, that she stole his N800,000 when he travelled.

“When I flown my brother to India for kidney transplant, I kept N800,000 in my wardrobe so that I can see what to spend when I return.

“But when I came back, my wife had stolen the money and she is yet to give it to me,” he said.

He begged the court to dissolve the marriage that he was no longer in love.

The respondent, Tolulope, who welcome the divorce said that her husband assaulted her lover with a cutlass.

“My husband attacked my lover with a cutlass on his head and injured him. Kolawole pushed me into adultery because he married another woman and abandoned me and the children”.

The 38-year-old trader said that her husband always threaten to kill her.

“My husband derives pleasure in beating me. There was a day he beat me and broke my leg. One day, he threatened to kill me, so I ran to one of my relative’s house.

“My husband came there, he met my sister’s husband ironing his clothes; he snatched the iron from him and started chasing me with it.

“Seeing his desperation, I ran into the street and my husband still chased me with the pressing iron. Anytime, I reported him at the Police Station the Police always tell me that it is a family matter and refused to caution him,” the mother of two said.

She said that she did not steal her husband N800,000 but she took it to settle some people.

“When my husband took his brother abroad for kidney transplant, I took his money and used part of it to settle the pastors that were praying for the success of the transplant.

“I used the other part of the money for transportation to churches for prayers,” she said.

The Court President, Mr. Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case to May 30 for further hearing.
