

The clinic holds between 8 and 10am before the matches of the Main Draws begin from 10am. The clinic, according to the Local Organising Committee, LOC will run till Saturday morning.
“No fewer than 100 players in both the male and female categories will take part in the clinic, being sponsored by the Local Organising Committee inconjunction with the Nigeria Tennis Federation”, the LOC said in a statement.
It was also gathered that the players visited Etisalat Nigeria’s Corporate Headquarters on Monday, where they were received by a team led by COO Mathew Wilshere.

Etisalat however promised to continue its support for the tournament, believing that it is an avenue to develop and expose Nigerian players to international tennis.
Wilshere also commended the LOC for putting up a good tourney, and praised the media for working to uplift the Governor’s Cup.
Meanwhile, some matches of the second leg would hold on Wednesday. In the Men’s Singles, Shehu Lawal of Nigeria will face a tough test when he engages Jeevan Nedunchezhyan of India (3 seed) in a second round match, while his compatriot Kehinde Alade faces Ruan Roelofse of South African in another match.
Meanwhile, some matches of the second leg would hold on Wednesday. In the Men’s Singles, Shehu Lawal of Nigeria will face a tough test when he engages Jeevan Nedunchezhyan of India (3 seed) in a second round match, while his compatriot Kehinde Alade faces Ruan Roelofse of South African in another match.
Lawal summed up his expectation ahead of Wednesday’s tie thus; “I’m expecting a good match against the Indian boy Jeevan Nedunchezhyan. I’m not scared of him being the 3rd seed of the competition, but I will play my best game against him”.
In the other fixture of the Men’s Singles, Theophilr Segodo of Benin will exchange strokes with Borna Coric of Croatia.
In the Women’s Singles fixtures also slated for Wednesday, Nina Bratchikova of Russia will face Jasmin Steinherr of Germany, Simmonds Chanel of South Africa confront Giora Barbieri of Germany, Dalila jakupovic of Slovakia take on Anna Morgina of Russia, while Christina Dinu of Romania exchanges strokes with Maria Sakkari of Greece.
Meanwhile, Andre Gaspar Murta of Portugal beat Nigerian star, Samuel Omoile 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday. Also, Ranjeet Verali Muguresan of India saw off Josep Imeh-Ubon 7-5, 4-6, 6-0 and Ruan Roelofse of South Africa beat Nonso Madueke 6-1, 6-3.
Borna Coric of Croatia outstroked Emmanuel Idoko 6-1, 6-1 and Alexis kleodu of Benin defeated Mark Fynn of Zimbabwe 6-3, 6-4.
In the Women’s Singles decided, Cristina Dinu of Romania defeated Aminat Quadri 6-0, 6-0, Tadeja Majeric bundled out Blessing Anuna 6-0, 6-0, Dalila Jakupovic of Slovakia defeated Sarah Adegoke 6-0, 6-1, Chanel Simmonds of South Africa also beat Rishka Sunkara of India 6-3, 6-3, while Noami Broady of Britain out-stroked Smriti Joon of India 6-2, 6-1.
