.As Premiership Teams Net 39 Goals In Week 5 Games
Premiership teams competing in the Lagos Junior League, LJL, were goals crazy over the weekend, as a total of 39 goals were scored in 10 matches held between Saturday and Sunday.
Of the total goals scored, the match between Imota and Lagos Mainland produced the highest, as Imota defeated the Mainland club 6-3 in a 9 goals thriller on Sunday.
The match between Sururlere and Oriade also recorded seven goals, though Oriade lost scandalously by six goals to one.
Kosofe Football Club, who put up a good show penultimate weekend, when they defeated Ajeromi Ifelodun 2-1 in their Week 4 match played at the Legacy training pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, also won their week 5 match 1-0 away to Odi Olowo.
Eti Osa East and Mosan Okunola played a 1-1 draw on Saturday, as the Islanders failed to conjure the magic that saw them mauling Oriade 4-1 at home in their week four match.
Also, Lagos Island, popularly known as Eko Akete Boys, who demolished Odi Olowo 3-0 in their week four encounter the previous week, lost 0-1 to Agege Giants, while itire Ikate defeated Mushin in another high scoring encounter on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the week three matches were also played in League 1 of the Lagos Junior League; where Orile Agege and Agbado Oke Odod settled for 1-1 draw, while Shomolu lost 0-2 to Bariga.
Iba also put every foot wrong and lost their match 0-3 to Ojodu, Otto Awori lost with the same goal margin to Ikosi Isheri, while Yaba defeated Eti Osa 3-1.
In the other results, Ayobo Ipaja whipped Epe Alaro with three un re-plied goals, Ifelodun and Egbe Idimu settled for 1-1 draw, Agboyi Ketu lost 0-3 to Eredo Tigers, Ibeju Lekki mauled Ikoyi Obalende 3-0, while
Ibeju Lekki defeated Ikorodu Central 3-0 in the last Division One match for the weekend.
