Garba Eyes World Cup With Flying Eagles

Nigeria U-20 Coach Manu Garba has said he wants his team to qualify for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand as African champions.
The Flying Eagles have already won the African Youth Championship a record six times with their last triumph being in 2011.
In 2013 in Algeria, they finished as third-best team at the AYC behind champions Egypt and runners-up Ghana. The 2015 AYC will be staged by Senegal between 8-22 March.
“The target for the team is to win the AYC and so qualify for the World Cup in New Zealand as the best team in Africa”, declared Garba.
“We want to be champions again and we want to do this in style. We know it won’t be easy, but we are working very hard to achieve this target”.
The AYC draw will be conducted in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday. As part of the team’s build-up for Senegal 2015, they will play another test game against Ace Academy of Kaduna Wednesday morning at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
They have also lined up another test game against YSFON national selection at the same venue on Friday. They beat Jamba Academy 4-1 and Standard FC of Zaria 12-0 in their first two training games.
The Nigeria U-20 side will go on break for Christmas celebrations on Saturday and will return to camp in Kaduna on 27 December.
