Gabros Beat 3SC To Lift NNL Super 4 Cup

Gabros International of Nnewi have emerged champions of the 2014 NNL Super 4 after beating 3SC 2-0 in the final of competition at the Kwara Stadium complex.
The game which was played under floodlights started in blistering pace as the Nnewi-based side took an early lead in the 8th minute via own goal when Shooting Stars Izu Joseph deflected a cross into his own net to give Gabros a 1-0 lead.
That goal sparked 3SC into action as they tried to draw level but Gabros were resolute as they held on to end the first half with that slim advantage.
The Nnewi team showed good stamina after their first game against Wikki Tourist stretched into penalty shootouts.
3SC came into the second half more determined as they piled pressure at the back line of the opponents but their biggest undoing was the inability to convert begging chances and they were soon made to pay with few seconds to the end of the game.
A quick counter from Gabros released substitue Williams Nemme and he made no mistake in burying the ball past the 3SC goalkeeper to make it 2-0 that almost left tears in the eyes of the Oluyole warriors’ gaffer Franklin Howrad as the referee blew the final whistle.
Gabros got 200,000 thousand naira for their efforts while second placed 3SC got 100,000 thousand naira.
Earlier in the day Kwara United defeated Wikki Tourist 1-0 in the loser’s final to win third place. It would be recalled that Giwa fc of Jos won the last edition in Abuja beating Abia Warriors to cart home the giant trophy and #300,000 cash prize.
