Head Coach of Nigeria’s Flamingoes, Bala Nikyu has stated that the team would not underrate their next Group D opponent, Colombia in their second game at the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after beating Asian counterparts, China 2-1 on Monday morning.
The Flamingoes will face Colombia on Thursday morning at the Alejandra Morera Soto stadium. Coach Bala Nikyu said at the post-match media conference that the National U-17 Women’s team will approach the game against the South Americans in a professional way.
“There is no, and won’t be any easy game at this tournament and we are not going to underrate Colombia because we beat China 2-1 and that Colombia lost 4-0 to Mexico”, he said.
“We are going to approach the match against Colombia with more seriousness and improved performance than we had against China, because our objective is to win the first title for Nigeria”.
“We are looking forward to the next game against Colombia knowing well that all the teams at this championship are here based on merit”, he added.
Nigeria will play the second group D match against Colombia by 3am Thursday morning in Nigeria and 8pm Costa Rica’s time.
