Falcons Lose Test Game To Sia One Boys

In their build up for next month’s African Women Championship, AWC, in Namibia, Super Falcons on Tuesday lost 1-2 to Sia One Boys Academy in a test game played at the Goal Project pitch of the Abuja National stadium.
The Sia One Boys scored their first goal in the 44th minute and made it two in the 75th minute.
The Super Falcons scored their consolation goal in the 85th minute when Asisat Oshoala broke loose and found Glory Iroka in position to fire a right foot to the roof of the net.
Falcons drew applause from the Sia One coaches and players, as they matched the boys pace for pace and tactically, but they were unfortunate not to convert begging chances. Despite the Sia One Boys pushing for more goals, Falcons held them off till the final whistle.
“This is our first game on resumption for camping ahead of the Africa Women Championship, AWC, proper and the girls did not do badly”, Super Falcons Coach Edwin Okon said.
“At this stage we cannot afford to throw away begging chances like the girls did in the game. The girls played well but like I said this is our first test game and we hope to correct our mistakes”.
This is the second time the Super Falcons are playing the Sia One Boys Academy. They lost 1-3 to the same boys when the team was in camp preparing for the AWC qualifier.
