Emordi Appointed New Pillars Coach

Former Rangers International of Enugu Coach, Okey Emordi has been appointed new coach of Kano Pillars Football Club.
Pillars chairman Abba Yola said they have received an approval from the Kano State Government for Emordi to lead the team for the forthcoming season.
“We wish to thank the government for approving the appointment of Okey Emordi as the new coach of Pillars”, Yola said, adding that “The coach will start work with immediate effect”.
Emordi and another former Pillars coach, Kadiri Ikhana, were interviewed for the top post. The former Enugu Rangers coach, Emordi led Enyimba to win the 2004 CAF Champions League.
He has also worked briefly in South Africa. He will reunite with Abdu Maikaba, who he worked with at Enyimba.
He takes over from Mohammed Babaganaru, who has left for Nasarawa United after he led Pillars to retain the Nigeria league title in October.
Pillars begin their Champions League campaign away to As Vita of DR Congo next month.
