Ekiti To Refurbish State Stadia

The General Manager, Ekiti State Sports Council, Olukayode Adewunmi, on Friday pledged the renovation of all stadia located in towns and villages in the state this year.
Adewunmi told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Ado-Ekiti that the decision was aimed at promoting grassroots sports in the state.
The manager said that the stadia included those in Ikole, Ijero and Ikere Ekiti. According to Adewunmi, the council has reached out to private and corporate establishments to partner with the state government to complement state’s funding of sporting activities in 2014.
He commended the efforts of heads of departments in the council for their commitment towards the development of sports in the state.
The manager advised them to keep up the good work to enable the council achieve its goal in the New Year.
He also assured youths in the state that 2014 would be filled with lots of sporting activities which, he said, would ultimately motivate them towards winning laurels in various competitions.
