Eagles Lose To America

Nigeria’s Super Eagles lost their last major friendly match before the Brazil 2014 World Cup 2-1 to the US national team in Jacksonville Saturday night.
Jozy Altidore scored a brace against the Eagles opening with a tap-in the first half and completed his brilliant display with a rocket shot in the second half.
Osaze Odemwingie reduced the tally for Nigeria when he converted a penalty kick, but the Coach Jungen Klinsmann-led side played the African champions hands down.
The Eagles, who earlier drawn their previous friendly matches against Scotland and Greece were not inspiring in the match against the Americans.
Nigeria play Iran, Bosnia and Argentina in the group stage of the World Cup, which begins this week.
