.As Supersport Secures Broadcast Rights, Takes Subscribers To World Cup –
Football lovers in Nigeria will enjoy the forth coming FIFA World Cup to the fullest, as MultiChoice Nigeria, owners of DSTV has slashed the prices of their cable decoders and monthly subscriptions from now through the World Cup period in Brazil come June-July this year.
The company announced the World Cup largesse during the MultiChoice World Cup Press Conference held at Federal Palace Hotel, Victorial Island Lagos on Wednesday 16th April, 2014.
It was gathered that the DSTV decoder which used to be sold for N27,000 will be sold to the customers for a reduced price of N15,500 during the promo period.
The company also reiterated its plan to take some subscribers to enjoy the blitz of the moment in Brazil during the World Cup.
In another development, the officials of SuperSport disclosed at the conference that the company has secured the rights to screen all matches of the World Cup to African viewers.
General Manager of SuperSport, Felix Awogu, said DSTV and GOTV subscribers would watch all the matches with the best picture and quality sound.
Also speaking about DSTV’s plan for the World cup, General Manager, Marketing of MultiChoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho said the company offers the ‘Walka 7’ to some peculiar subscribers, who need to watch live matches in the traffic or in the comfort of their offices.
He also disclosed that the Explora, with its two terabytes memory, gives viewers the opportunity to record all the games into the decoder and keep them for the future, especially when they are not around during crucial games.
