Rivers Angels FC missed an opportunity to go top of the league table following a 1-1 draw with DreamStar Ladies in a Matchday 9 encounter of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership decided at the Agege Stadium on Thursday.
Favour Kalu scored for the hosts in the 22nd minute but Deborah Abiodun rescued a point for the Jewel of Rivers in the 85th minute to preserve their unbeaten start to the season but left to rue two points dropped in the end.
Angels star Vivian Ikechukwu while speaking with Rivers Angels Media expressed her disappointment with the final result.
According to the forward, she said they might have underrated DreamStar and they paid for it by conceding in the first half.
“I’m not happy because this was a golden opportunity for us to have topped the league but that didn’t happen,” Ikechukwu stated.
“This wasn’t the result we expected because when Bayelsa drew yesterday, we were hoping to pick all three points from the game against DreamStar Ladies.”
