Don’t Frustrate Keshi, Omeri Warns NFF

The Director-General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mike Omeri, on Tuesday in Abuja said a technical assistant should not be forced on Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, and warned the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, not to frustrate him.
The NOA director-general, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said the coach should be left to do the job as he deems fit, if he does not request for one.
“The Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, should be given technical assistant only if he wanted it. Such should not be forced on him”, he said.
Omeri spoke in reaction to news that there was a plan by the Ministry of Sports and the NFF to hire a Technical Adviser for the Eagles.
He said the Super Eagles’ coach should be supported in the realisation of Nigeria’s ‘Dream Eagles’, rather than working to derail his dreams.
“I am guided by his opinion on this matter. Does he need support? If he needs technical support, give it to him, if he doesn’t need and he says he is okay, support him to get there.
“There are many coaches who have been brought to this country and supported till the end. Why not support this one?
“But in the event that he comes out to say ‘I need help’, you just give it to him,” Omeri said.
