Former Super Eagles defender Danny Shittu says he would love to play in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) before calling it quits with active football.
Shittu, who was at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan, to witness the 2016 Nigeria Football Federation Cup quarter final game between Rivers United and Enyimba Football Club of Aba, described the standard of the elite league in Nigeria as very high and competitive this time around.
“I have not called it quits with active football, I will definitely announce it when the time comes but I will like to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League before retiring finally”, Shittu told journalists in Ibadan.
The stocky defender also disclosed that putting on the Super Eagles jersey is the best thing that ever happened to him in his career.
