Daniel Pledges To Help Crown Stay In NPL

Bode Daniel has said he is keen on helping Crown FC stay in the Glo Premier League following their 2-1 win over southwest rivals Sunshine Stars on Wednesday.
The Crown FC striker made no mistake from six yards by sweeping home Onyekachi Okafor’s low cross after a counter-attacking move for his team’s second goal just four minutes into the second half.
Yomi Olaoke had put Crown FC ahead when he nodded the ball past Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal for Sunshine Stars after six minutes into the game.
Even when Muyiwa Lawal, who is younger brother to former Flying Eagles winger, Dimeji Lawal, came off the bench to pull one back for Sunshine Star, it changed nothing at the end of the game as the Ogbomosho side kept all three points in this first Odua Derby.
Daniel has however taken time to appraise Crown’s performance after their win describing it as “one of our best outings this season.”
“This is one of our best outings this season and I’m happy we won. I am also happy that I scored against my former team (Sunshine Stars) which is good for me, my team and career. But my goal was not meant to spite them. I only did my job as a professional,” Daniel told www.lmc.-ng.org.
“My ambition this season, apart from scoring goals, is to help my club stay in the Glo Premier League. I don’t want us to play just one season in the league and return to the lower league”, he added.
Crown FC’s win over Sunshine Stars has lifted the Ogbomoso club seven places into eighth position on the league table. They now have 17 points and are just five points behind the leaders, Sharks.
