Crown Suspend Coach Akpokona

The Management of Crown Football Club says it has suspended Coach Lawrence Akpokona indefinitely for poor results in this year’s Glo Nigeria Premier League.
The suspension was disclosed in a letter to the coach on Thursday signed by the Team Manager Sunday Olaosebikan.
“On behalf of the General Manager I’m directed to convey the decision of the Management to you to proceed on an indefinite suspension with immediate effect.
“Upon receipt of this letter, vacate your official residence. The decision becomes imperative due to the unimpressive performance of the club under your watch.”
The coach was thanked for his services so far and that he would be communicated on further decisions of the Board and Management in due course.
It would be recalled that Akpokona was employed immediately after promotion to the Premier League. He was mandated to stabilise the team in the Premiership but the club are now sitting deep in relegation waters after 21 round of matches.
Crown were beaten by a lone goal by Lobi Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan on Wednesday.
