Before Corruption Destroys The World

Hello sports fans round the globe, here is another edition of my column, which will address issues on the ‘Eruption Of Corruption In The World And Sports’.

When the foundation of youth in sport development is destroyed, mediocrity takes centre stage while self centered atrocities are committed, this resonate far and wide across the globe.

I’m particularly bothered about the high level of corruption in various places including the one-time respected top governments globally and even World’s football governing body, FIFA.

Actually, corruption is not all about embezzlement of fund alone. It also involves the deprivation of individuals of their rights to fulfilling their desired dream.

It is the act of corrupting or state of being corrupt. It is moral perversion; depravity. It is perversion of integrity. It is dishonest proceedings. It is bribery. But people focus more on only bribery.

It is debasement or better put; alteration, as of language or a text. It is a debased form of a word. It is also the putrefactive decay; rottenness and influence of any corrupt agency.

Corruption, embezzlement, fraud, these are all characteristics of what now exist everywhere. Some of these evidence are physical, while some are silent killers. It is regrettably the way human nature functions, whether we like it or not.

What successful economies do is keep it to a minimum. No one has ever eliminated any of that stuff. It is however, the enemy of development, and of good governance. It must be gotten rid of. Both the governments and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.

I weep for the liberty of common individuals who can’t challenge these syndromes but soonest, it will be labeled as an epidemic. The rights of the common people have been bartered by promises and the promises of equality.

Howbeit, there is no equality even in the best system the world has produced; Democracy. Democracy can’t curtail the characteristics of corrupt leaders and agencies.

If you look at great human civilizations, from the Roman Empire to the Soviet Union, you will see that most do not fail simply due to external threats but because of internal weakness, corruption, or a failure to manifest the values and ideals they espouse.

The duty of youth is to challenge corruption. Fighting corruption is not just good governance. It’s self-defense. It’s patriotism.

Let it be that part of my mandate is to curb corruption and streamline a cumbersome, graft-ridden bureaucracy, to put resources where they will provide the clearest results, and to untangle a complicated regulatory environment, even the youth now with bright future as a hope is beginning to question their true identity
History is a great teacher.

History has defined life in one way or the other. History has proved that when we some day die, then what legacy do we leave behind? HatchTag! # Save the world and Save the game from corrupt practices#. At least, before it destroys the entire world.

Hope you enjoy this brief piece, join me again in as the next edition of my column is on the way.
