Confed Cup: Warri Wolves Beat FCMK To Reach 3rd Round

Nigeria’s only remaining team in continental club competition, Warri Wolves FC showed tremendous guts and grit to overcome FCMK of Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in Kinshasa on Friday and qualify for the third round of the competition on 3-1 aggregate.
Millions of ardent followers of African football had given Wolves no chance after they could only win the first leg 2-1, but a commendable performance at the dreaded Stade Tata Raphael was crowned by a 65th minute goal by U-23 National Team ace Etebo Oghenekaro.
NFF official Emmanuel Adesanya who traveled with Wolves lamented the performance of Cameroonian referee Aurelien Juenkou Wandji, whose antics still failed to get the Congolese side past this stage.
The victorious Nigerian side will now play a losing side from the CAF Champions League to reach the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup.
