Charity Cup: Enyimba Beat Pillars

Enyimba International Football Club of Aba defeated Nigeria Premier League champions, Kano Pillars 2-0 to confirm their supremacy in the Charity Cup final played in Warri on Thursday, 28 November, 2013.
The ten-man Enyimba, who were pipped at the post by Pillars to the Nigeria League championship last season, took the lead in the 23rd minute through Ifeanyi Edeh.
Enyimba defender Ugwu Uwadiegwu was sent off in the 47th minute for a second booking.
Despite being a man short, Sibi Gwar then doubled Enyimba’s advantage in the 69th minute, but Pillars failed to score in the encounter.
Both teams were handled by assistant coaches; Imama Amakapabo for Enyimba and Kabiru Baleria for Pillars, as their chief coaches were on their ways to sign for new clubs ahead of the new season.
