Buhari, Jonathan Go Head-To-Head As Election Results Are Announced

Muhammadu Buhari, who took a significant lead over the Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan on Monday night with half of the results declared in the general election, is still ahead.
Buhari, the opposition candidate, led with 8,520,436 votes against Jonathan’s 6,488,210, based on returns from 18 out of Nigeria’s 36 states plus the capital city as at Monday night.
Results from seven of the remaining 18 states were also announced on Tuesday, with Buhari winning in three more states, while Jonathan won in four states.
Results of the remaining 11 states are still being expected.
