
HEALTH NEWS: Reports say well over 51,444 birds, including Turkey and others have died due to the H5N1 inflenza virus, popularly known as bird flu, which has hit about eleven states in Nigeria.
A report credited to Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina, the Minister of Agriculture says the number of affected birds has risen in four states, where the virus is being reported.
Some of the states mentioned are Oyo, Jigawa, Gombe and Imo. Adeshina said the number of birds exposed had risen to 232,385 already.
