The 2015-16 UEFA Champions League draw for the group stage took place on Thursday as Europe’s elite eagerly waited to see who will stand between them and the business end of the competition.
Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League for the third time in four seasons after being drawn against the German club in the group stage.
Manchester United will play PSV Eindhoven, with Dutch striker Memphis Depay set to face his old club. Chelsea will also play Porto, the club Blues boss Jose Mourinho steered to a shock victory in the competition in 2004.
Manchester City face Juventus, Europa League winners Sevilla and German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
Spain are the first nation to field five teams in the group phase, while Astana are Kazakhstan’s first representatives after triumphing over APOEL in the play-offs.
Bundesliga outfits Borussia, Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg were the teams to avoid in Pot 4, while Pot 3 was particularly dangerous this year thanks to the inclusion of teams such as Sevilla, Roma and Lyon.
Each team will play six fixtures in the group stage, with the first match days taking place on 15 and 16 September.
