Gabriel Dada Adeboye, who sealed a mid-season move from Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to Bayelsa United, made his debut for the Restoration Boys on Match Day 22 of the Glo Premier League against champions Kano Pillars in Oghara on Sunday.
Adeboye, a utility midfielder, did a yeoman’s job by curtailing the highly mobile players of Kano Pillars during the match at the Oghara Township Stadium. Despite playing his first match for Baylesa United, the youngster showed he is a team player as he brilliantly combined well with teammates, Eric Frimpong, John Paul Chinedu, Osamudiame Idehen, Junior Salomon and the others to ensure the team earned a respectable 1-1 draw against the defending champions.
A product of the Pepsi Football Academy, Adeboye played for Lad One Academy before featuring for Bussdor FC of Port Harcourt in the National Division One League between 2008 and 2009, and joined 3SC the following season. The soft-spoken Adeboye reveals some of his likes and lifestyle in this Off-The-Pitch Interview With npfl.ng.
NPFL: Which is your favourite food?
Adeboye: Bread and tea.
NPFL: What is the most expensive thing you’ve bought as a footballer?

NPFL: Which is your favourite colour?
NPFL: Can you recall the embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced?
Adeboye: Oh yes, the day I captained 3SC against MFM FC at the Agege Stadium in Lagos last season. We were battling to gain promotion back to the Premier League and our plan was to defeat MFM in Lagos. We worked so hard in that match and came from 2-0 down to level scores at 2-2. With just few minutes to full time, we conceded a painful goal and lost by 2-3 to MFM. It was embarrassing for me because majority of my family and friends came to watch the match. However, my happiness is that 3SC eventually gained promotion and are still doing well in the Premier League before I left them for Bayelsa United a few weeks ago.

Adeboye : I still can’t forget 3SC’s disappointing 2-3 loss to MFM at the Agege Stadium last season.
NPFL: If you had N20 million to spend, what would be the first thing you will buy?
Adeboye: I will buy a house.
NPFL: What other sports do you like or play as a pastime apart from football?
Adeboye: I play Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis and Snooker.
