The Bafana Bafana of South Africa are to challenge Nigeria’s Super Eagles once again when they tango at the 2014 African Nations Championship, CHAN in January.

In the CHAN draw released by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Nigeria and South Africa are to do battle in Group A of the tournament slated to kick off on 11 January, 2014, with Mali and Mozambique.

Bafana Bafana, popularly known as ‘The Boys The Boys’ recently lost the Mandela Challenge Cup to the Nigerian team led by Coach Stephen Keshi.

The Eagles would be returning to a familiar terrain, having won the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa right in front of the Bafana Bafana fans.

Observers believe that it was a fair draw for Nigeria, but the home-based Eagles must be ready to play the games of their lives considering the fact that another opponent, Mali has a rich tradition of assembling young footballers from its local league to play international competitions.

The tournament is organised by CAF for the players plying their trades in various local leagues across Africa.
