Arsenal Whip Aston Villa To Retain FA Cup

Manager Arsene Wenger led Arsenal to win the club’s second English FA Cup in a row, as they defeated Aston Villa 4-0 in the final on Saturday.
Goals from Theo Walcott on 40 minutes, Alexis Sanchez on 50 minutes, Mertesacker in the 62nd minute and Giroud in extra time earned the Gunners victory in a rather one-sided encounter.
Apart from retaining their title, Arsenal won their 12th FA Cup, with the biggest win in the final since 1994.
Aston Villa Manager Tim Sherwood said: “I can’t make any excuses for that today, Arsenal were too good for us. We couldn’t impose ourselves on them or nullify what they had. They’ve got some outstanding footballers and too much quality for us”.
Arsenal boss Wenger also reacted after the match: “We have shown that we are a real team and can deal with pressure. I congratulate the players, the staff and the fans. We are so happy tonight.
“I had a difficult week to pick the team. But when confidence and sprit is so good it helps. Look, I am very proud. Our club is doing well and if I can personally do well then it’s even better.
“I have two more years of my contract and my hunger is great. I want to do well”.
