Politics: Jimi Agbaje on Monday emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s candidate for the Lagos governorship elections, beating Musiliu Obanikoro and others, including Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi, Dr (Mrs) Modupe Chukwuneke, Ambassador Tokunboh Kamson and Adedeji Doherty who contested at the polls.
Agbaje, who lost out in the 2007 elections under the platform of the Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA), won by polling 432 of 836 votes cast at the primaries conducted in Lagos.
Former Minister of Defence, Obanikoro is out of the race as he polled a total of 343 votes.
With this development, Agbaje will contest against APC’s candidate Akinwumi Ambode and others at next year’s elections, to determine who replaces Governor Babatunde Fashola as Lagos Governor.
