Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s away victory over Stationary Stores at Onikan Stadium in Lagos on Sunday, has been described as the manifestation of the team’s resolve to bounce back to the Premier League.
Samuel Oyedeji’s 22nd minute goal was the decider as the Saraki-owned club secured their first away win of the season. General Manager of ABS, Alloy Chukwuemeka said the team’s relegation last season was painful, stressing that the target this season was to return to the Premier League immediately.
Even though the team had a fair start to the season following the loss of about 24 payers, he said that promotion to the elite league is non-negotiable.
Chukwuemeka said the new players have fully adapted to the team’s system of play and pattern, and are also ready to deliver. He commended the Chairman and Proprietor of the team, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki for keeping faith with the team, especially during difficult times that the team had experienced.
ABS FC now have 11 points after seven matches, and will play Go-Round in their next match on Sunday at the Ilorin Township Stadium.
