Egharevba Hat-Trick Wrecks Nembe

Frank Egharevba claimed his first hat-trick of the season on Wednesday, 17 September, to lead Bayelsa United to a 3-1 Nigeria Premier League win over Nembe City.
The two teams renewed their rivalry at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in a league match that brought out all the elements in a typical derby.
A sizable number of the spectators who turned out to watch the game which the Restoration Boys won 3-1 had something to cheer about as, some of the players exhibited skills that could match or even surpass the performance of some derbies all over the world.
Striker Egharevba, who bagged a hat-trick for Bayelsa, was a master on the field.
It was Bayelsa who shot ahead in the 44th minute through Egharevba with a fierce shot that left goalkeeper Ifeanyi Agu struggling in vain to save.
Before the goal, Bayelsa had controlled the better part of the exchanges with Peter Ebimobowei and Eric Frimpong proving a major threat to Nembe.
Okiki Musampa was complacent in the Nembe forward line, as he missed two chances he ought to have put to bed.
At the resumption of the second half, Nembe worked hard for an equaliser which didn’t come.
Egharevba scored Bayelsa’s second in the 53rd minute from a beautiful individual effort.
With eleven minutes to the end of the game, substitute Timitimi Iwekede raised the spirit of Nembe when he pulled a goal back to make the scoreline 2-1.
The brilliant Egharevba secured victory for Bayelsa United with six minutes left and his third goal of the day.
