400 Kiddies Sign For KGI Academy

*A kid golfer tees off during a tournament. About 400 young golf players have signed for the KGI Academy.

In an attempt to catch them young to become great stars of tomorrow in the game of golf, the Kids Golf International, KGI Academy has intensified efforts to train more kids through its program.

As at the last count, about 400 students from across 15 primary and secondary schools in Lagos and Ogun States have signed for the academy based in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
According to organisers of the KGI Academy, the golf development curriculum has been developed using proven world wide standards such as the Life Time Player Development Program, used by many developed countries.
The Spokesperson of the Academy, which was launched in 2002, Susan Thompson said; “Our curriculum is endorsed by experienced PGA Golf Professionals, our academies are structured not only for the students but also for the coaches that teach them, using well known proven methods and principles.
“That way, we are sure that both the students and coaches are getting the best out of each other. Our programmes also teach the kids the ability to win tournaments as well as maintain longevity to excel in the sport”.
Susan also explained that; “We follow the fundamentals of golf coaching and make learning the game an enjoyable experience”.
