
.As Nigeria National League, NNL 2013/2014 Season Kicks Off –
After two months break, the Nigeria National League, NNL will resume this Saturday, 25 January, across the country even as the NNL has concluded plans to organize a hitch-free competition in the 2013/2014 season.
No fewer than 32 clubs including four teams relegated from the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, last season namely Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC and Kwara United FC as well as Niger Tornadoes FC, will kick start their promotion race this weekend.
Two former Premier League clubs, Jigawa Golden Stars and Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi will also clash in top of the bill match at Dutse. The encounter has been designated by the NNL as the Star Match of the opening season.
There will also be many other matches holding at the different stadia across Nigeria this weekend just as two rivals, Remo Stars FC of Ogun State will ambush neighbors Shooting Stars of Ibadan in another battle of the titans.
General Manager of ABS, Alloy Chukwuemeka hinted that his club are poised to bounce back to the Premier League cadre where they rightly belong because they will play their opponents with the zeal to win every match to ensure their return to the elite division next season.
Meanwhile, the NNL Scribe, Lawrence Katken has disclosed that the league body has put machinery in place to stage a flawless competition, which will be the pride of all Nigerians.
He assured that the officiating of league matches will be fair to all clubs, hence he expects that teams can go outside their state to win games if they play well.
