Reports from Abuja say about 26 States of the Federation are in danger of missing the deadline for registration for this year’s Men and Women Federation Cup competitions.
Head of Federation Cup Unit, Miss Ruth David said in Abuja on Tuesday that despite several phone calls and text messages to the Football Associations in the different States, only 10 States have registered for this year’s competitions, with just 10 days to the deadline for registration.
“It is important to remind all the States that the deadline for registration for the 2015 Men and Women Federation Cup competitions is 13 February”, she said.
It was gathered that late registration, between 16–20 February, will attract a fine of N50,000 for the men competition and N40,000 for the women competition.
According to Ruth, submission of completed players’ licenses will be between 23–27 February, while late submission, between 9–16 March, will attract a fine of N300,000 to the defaulting clubs.
The Grand Finale of this year’s Men and Women Federation Cup competitions has already been fixed for Sunday, 16 August.
