Nine Journalists, Others Killed In Kabul Blasts

Reports say nine journalists, including a sports journalist Sabawook Kakar were killed in twin bomb blasts in Kabulr were killed in twin bomb blasts in Kabul.

ISIS insurgents claimed a twin bomb attack early on Monday, in which more than twenty innocent people, including nine Afghani journalists and member of the Afghanistan Sports Journalists Federation, Sabawook Kakar, lost their lives.

Local officials from the Ministry of Public Health confirmed that at least 29 people were killed in two explosions in Kabul City early Monday morning.

The second attack happened as media and security forces were helping the survivors of the first attack near a security office in one of the city’s safe zones.

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that at least 49 people were also wounded in Monday’s explosions in the city.

ASJF Executive Committee member Sabawook Kakar lost his life during the explosion. Kakar was a journalist with a nationwide radio channel Radio Azadi.

He was named as ASJF EC member in 2017 and was one of the top sport journalists in Afghanistan.

According to local media reports ASJF member Salim Talash, who was working with Mashal TV was among those killed.
