The second Chika Chukwumerijie International Taekwondo Open will hold this weekend at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
Initiator of the championship, Chukwumerijie said some of the participating teams from Africa have arrived, while the others would hit Abuja latest by Friday before the event kicks off on Saturday, 19 October.
“It is my own way of contributing to the development of the sport in Africa, especially in my country, Nigeria, and I hope that talented Nigerian taekwondoists use this opportunity to exhibit their God given talents”, Chukwumerijie said in Abuja.
The national taekwondo champion explained that gold medal winners will get N150, 000 while the silver medallists and bronze winners get N100, 000 and N50, 000 respectively. The tournament would be rounded off on Sunday, 20 October, 2013.
