Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan Sunday evening at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba, Ibadan, continued their fight against relegation when they defeated hard fighting Katsina United on Match Day 29 of the Nigerian Professional Footbal League (NPFL).
The match started on a pacy note with 33SC in the ascendancy and wasted what could have been the opening goal in the 17th minute.
That was when Ajani Ibrahim failed to connect Ayobami Junior’s free kick.
After a drab 44 minutes Wasiu Jimoh got the opener off an indirect free kick by Slvanus Ebiaku.
The second half of the game however failed to produce a goal as both teams wasted several scoring chances.
Speaking after the game, coach of Katsina United Baldwin Bazuaye described the game as an entertaining one in which both teams lived up to expectations and later urged the Oyo State government to do more for the club financially.
3SC coach Edith Agoye described the game as a difficult one and praised the away team for being highly organised.
