Loss of concentration was Shooting Stars’ albatross as they were forced to a score draw by hosts, Remo Stars at the Gateway International Stadium in Shagamu, Ogun State on Wednesday.
The Match Day 30 NPFL Southwest derby which was witnessed by a fairly large crowd started on a very cautious note as both teams were sizing each other up in the early minutes of the encounter.
Remo Stars had the first chance of the game when Victor Mbaoma shot tamely into the waiting hands of 3SC goalkeeper Charles Tembe in the 38th minute while Shooting Stars also lost their only chance in the first half when Wasiu Jimoh shot wide from the edge of the box in the 40th to end the half scoreless.
On resumption play for the second half, 3SC stepped up the game with the trio of Abu Azeez, Ajani Ibrahim and Wasiu Jimoh terrorising the defence of Remo Stars at will.
However in the 26th minute of the second half, Moses James nodded home Wasiu Jimoh’s corner kick to put Shooting Stars ahead.
Immediately after the goal, it was all Remo Stars frantically searching for an equalizer which eventually came with the last kick of the encounter.
An unmarked Remo Stars attacker nodded home from inside the 18-yard box in the 93rd minute.
