Australia, who defeated Argentina 29-15 points in the second semi final of the on going 2015 Rugby World Cup on Sunday at the Millennium Stadium will now battle New Zealand in the grand finale.
New Zealand had earlier beaten South Africa 20-18 points in the first semi final match on Saturday at Twickenham.
The final for the coveted Webb Ellis Cup will hold on Saturday, 31 October at the home of Rugby Twickenham between the defending and two time champions All Black against their arc rivals who are also two time champions, the Wallabies.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Ntiense Williams, a member of International Rugby Board, IRB, says; “It promises to be a great epic final match befitting of the beautiful game of Rugby”.
“The 2015 Rugby World Cup started on Saturday, 18 September at Twickenham in England and will be rounded off this Saturday, 31 October. The 45 days of Rugby world Cup has so far featured 48 matches contested by 20 nations of 4 pools of 5 teams in the group stage”, Williams said in a release.
According to Ntiense Williams; “Major upsets in this year’s Rugby World Cup were Japan’s historic defeat of the Springboks in the opening group match.
“Wales’ defeat and eventual elimination of the hosts England and Argentina’s defeat of Ireland in the quarter final capped the wonderfully hosted tournament at the birth place of the game of Rugby Football Union”.
