Nigeria League Hero Orjinta Found dead In His Enugu Home

Orjinta dies in Enugu

Reports reaching eyeonthesports.com say Former Nigeria Premier League hero, defender Romanus Orjinta has died mysteriously in his home town in Enugu, South East of Nigeria.

Orjinta, who also played for Enyimba of Aba, Julius Berger of Lagos and Bendel Insurance of Benin was found dead in the early hours of New Year’s day in his apartment in Enugu.

Orjinta, who was 34 years old played for Lillestrom of Norway before he returned to Nigeria to play for Niger Tornadoes of Minna.

His last official appearance was at the League Bloggers Award held at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos in 2013, where he was honoured alongside other ex-Nigeria League players.

Orjinta, who also played for the Super Eagles, captained Enyimba of Aba to win the CAF Champions League in 2003.

The former Rangers of Enugu defender was part of the 2002 LG Cup Invitational held in Lagos, where he captained the home-based Super Eagles.

His last assignment was at a local football side where he served as a coach in Enugu.
