McIlroy’s Poor Form Continues In Miami

Rory McIlroy’s poor form continued on Thursday with a one-over-par 73 in the first round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Miami, leaving him 11 shots off the lead.
The Northern Irishman missed the cut in last week’s Honda Classic and has fared little better in Miami so far.
But McIlroy, who started on the back nine, did recover from being four over at halfway, fighting back with three birdies and an eagle.
JB Holmes leads on 10 under, four shots ahead of fellow American Ryan Moore.
Holmes’ exceptional round of 62 in windy conditions ensured he was well ahead of the field. Wales’ Jamie Donaldson finished eight strokes back.
McIlroy, according to bbcsport report, missed the cut at last week’s Honda Classic, say it was “a little kick in the backside”. But there is no such cut in Miami this week.
