The Executives of Lagos Chapter of Sports Writers Association on Nigeria (SWAN) say preparations are in top gear to hold its annual Lagos SWAN Week/SWAN Cup.
Eyeonthenews.com gathered that this year’s edition is scheduled for September 28th through October 5th.
“We are at the verge of concluding a title sponsorship deal with a new sponsor. Hopefully, we will tie it up early this week and subsequently call a press conference to unveil the new sponsor”, Lagos SWAN Chairman, Debo Oshundun said in a statement.
“Besides the SWAN Cup which is the highlight event of the Week, we are looking to hold a Patrons Day at which we will honour our patrons and possibly conduct investiture of new patrons.
“As part of CSR, we are also planning to have a public cleaning/sanitation exercise. I humbly urge our members to participate in this”.
The Lagos SWAN boss further hinted that there shall also be a health clinic at which the association hopes to conduct free medical tests and give out free drugs and possible medicated glasses to those that might need them.
“I want to encourage all media organisations to ensure their participation in the SWAN Cup,” he said.
He concluded that; “I want to use this opportunity to tell the last winners of the SWAN Cup that their prizes will be paid before the commencement of the this year’s edition”.
According to him, the first prize of N100,000 will be paid to Complete Sports, second prize of N70,000 goes to Sports Vision, third prize of N50,000 to TVC while Unilag FM, fourth place winner will get N30,000.

“I’m calling on of all members to start preparing their teams for this year’s SWAN Cup. God bless all Lagos SWAN members and happy new week”, Oshundun concluded.
