Reports early Tuesday, 26 July, 2016 say one of Africa’s biggest musicians Koffi Olomide of Congo has been arrested in the capital, Kinshasa.
The reason for the arrest is unclear, but it comes after his deportation from Kenya on Saturday for allegedly kicking one of his female dancers at the main airport in the capital, Nairobi.
According to a reports by BBC’s Poly Muzalia from the city, the musician has denied assaulting her, while investigation was said to be continuing.
Meanwhile, organisers in Zambia have cancelled a planned concert by Koffi Olomide following the row over an alleged assault in Kenya.
The Agriculture and Commercial Society of Zambia said the “disappointing” incident was behind its decision.
