“My wife used to invite her boss into our matrimonial in my absence. I came home unexpectedly and I met her boss sitting on her lap on our bed. I asked my wife of her boss mission, she told me that he came for official matters.
“I was angry because why must they enter my bedroom when we have the sitting room, guest room and children’s room. It was then my children told me that the man used to take my wife out for shopping.
“On two different occasions I saw a used condom in our waste bill and we live alone in my compound, so, who could have used it if not Diekoloreoluwa and her lover. But when I queried her, she denied it,” the estranged man said.
He said apart from her infidelity, that his wife was violent in nature.
“There was a day we had a disagreement, she picked up a stone and broke the windscreen of my car. She once broke my television over a trivial issue,” the petitioner said.
The 42-year-old freight forwarder said that his wife is a party enthusiast
“My wife loves going to parties without my consent, she can go for four days or more and whenever she returns and I queried her, she will turn it to a fight,” he said.
Rebutting the allegations, Diekoloreoluwa, said that she was no adulterous.
“My boss came to our house to collect some documents, I am not having an affair with him,” she said.
She however said that her husband starved her of sex.
“My husband stopped making love to me 16 months ago, he always claimed that I wanted to kill him,” she said.
The 38-year-old civil servant accused her husband of threat to her life.
“Kayode is always threatening to kill me, he once brought out a cutlass in the middle of the night threatening to butcher me but I was fast enough to escape.
“There was a day he was beating me, I escaped and he threw a stone at me, I dodged it and the stone hit our pastor who was coming to visit us on his forehead, and the pastor was bleeding.
According to her, her husband’s mother and brothers are controlling their home.
“If we discuss anything, my husband will first go to his family to consult with them, what they say will be his final decision. I am just like a maid, my decision is always rejected. In fact, I don’t have a say in my matrimonial home,” she said
The respondent said that she was not ready to divorce her husband because she still loves him.
The president of the Court, Mr. Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case to July 11 for judgment.
