Ex-CBN Gov. Adamu Ciroma Dies At 84

Adamu Ciroma

Adamu Ciroma, former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) between September 1975 and June 1977 has died at the age of 84.

He died in an Abuja hospital on Thursday after battling a protracted illness.

He was Finance Minister at the start of the Fourth Republic, between 1999 and 2003, during the first term of President Olusegun Obasanjo in office.

Ciroma was a former Managing Director of the New Nigerian Newspapers, and a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
