“I caught my wife making love with a man she once introduced to me as her cousin,” a 40-year-old clearing and forwarding, Mr Tolani Oseni, told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos.
He said that his wife, Toyin, with whom he had three children in their 10-year-old marriage was cheating on him.
“I caught her red-handed with a man she introduced to me as her cousin, they were both naked and in the act.
“She was not even remorseful, she declared that she was at liberty “to do anything.
“I would have descended on her but I don’t want to commit murder, so I controlled my anger.
“Toyin and her lover dressed up and both left, she came back home after two days.
“Her lover still come to the house to visit her, he still came yesterday,” he said.
The petitioner described his wife as an ungrateful fellow.
“When my business was booming, I bought her a brand new bus for her business and a land to build her bakery.
“But when things turned the other way, she started flirting about,” he said.
Tolani said that his wife had been starving him sex for one and half year.
“The last time Toyin allowed me to make love to her was 18 months ago but was given it to her concubines on daily basis,” the estranged man said.
He begged the court to terminate the loveless marriage that he was no longer interested.
Rebutting the allegations, Toyin said that her husband laziness pushed her into having affair.
“My lord , my husband’ s laziness made me to be having an affair with another man who is assisting me to cater for my family.
“Tolani lives with me in a house I built with my sweat; he is jobless and not ready to do any work . I shoulder all the family responsibilities,” she said .
The mother of three said that she denied her husband sex because he was not responsible.
Toyin said that Tolani always embarrassed her in public, accusing her of dating any man he see her talking to.
“He keeps checking my phones and monitoring my movements.
“He accused me of having affair with any man he see with me,” the respondent said.
She consented to the dissolution of their marriage saying she too was fed up.
“My lord, there is no more love between us, I am also tired of his embarrassment and irresponsibility,” she said.
The court president, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case to Sept. 19 for judgment.
