CAF Bans Benin For Age Cheating

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has banned Benin Republic from all age-group competitions for the next two years after they fielded four players who were outside the age allowed for an African U-17 qualifier.
CAF announced on its website Friday that Benin fielded four players who were born outside Janaury 1, 1998, against Mali in a qualifying match for next year’s African Junior Championship in Niger.
The players were Ibilola Aron (born on 10-12-1997), Ogoubiyi Oluwa (born on 26-10-1997), Oreko Evode (born on 24-12-1997) and Amoussou Tony (born on 19-9-1997).
