Anambra Library Board Engages Children On Holiday Activities

Obiano greets schoolgirls

Anambra State Library Board in collaboration with Zimo Art Gallery organised a 3-day Holiday Art Leadership Promotion and Leadership Camp.

According to Anambra State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, the training was held from August 6 through 8.

Addressing the school children at Umuezeawala, Ihiala LGA, the Acting Director Anambra State Library Services, Mrs Nkechi Udeze explained that the aim of the camp was to encourage children to imbibe reading culture at young age.

She stressed, `reading makes a man’.

Mrs Udeze also emphasised that the training would also take place in communities hosting libraries, urging the children to make proper use of the opportunity provided them.

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer Zimo Art Gallery, Mr Uchenna Ezemo noted that learning a skill at early stages in life would help to curb unemployment and keep the children focused.

Ezemo implored for support from Government, parents and well-meaning individuals to sponsor such projects.

Skills to be learnt include collage, printing, tie and dye, bag making and hat making.
