The seven-year-old marriage of an Evangelist (Mrs) Funmilola Odu, and her Pastor-Husband, Ayodele, may be heading for the crash as both ‘man and woman of God’ are in Court for divorce over accusations of infidelity.
Evangelist (Mrs) Funmilola Odu took a bold step to drag her husband to an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, South-West Nigeria, to divorce her ‘randy’ husband but Pastor Ayodele also exposed some dirty affairs of her wife with other men.
The petitioner said that her husband, Ayodele, with whom she had two children in their marriage was adulterous.
“My husband is adulterous. He has slept with almost all the sisters in the church. He had ‘lost his mind’ since he ate vegetable soup in the house of one of the sisters in the church. He once travelled to Port Harcourt with one of the sisters when he was on vacation,” the mother of two said.
The embittered woman said that her husband impregnated a sister in the church
“Last April, a sister came to our apartment crying. She told me that my husband impregnated her, but asked her to go and abort the pregnancy because he didn’t want me to know about it. When he got back home, I confronted him with the matter and he pleaded with me, promising that he would never marry the woman,” she said.
The estranged woman further said that her husband chased her out of her matrimonial home and brought in another woman.
“Pastor threw my property out and he is presently living with a mother of six whom he had made an evangelist”.
According to her, Ayodele denied the paternity of her last baby. She urged the Court to end the marriage that she was no longer interested.
“I don’t love him anymore, I want a divorce,” she said.
Refuting the allegations, Pastor Ayodele said that he denied the paternity of their last baby because his wife was adulterous
“Funmilola was having an affair with a man called Gbenga, the same man who named the baby Gbenga on the day of his christening which was done in his house.
“How will I accept such a baby as my own, though I was in Abuja for business during the delivery and christening. Can’t my wife go to my family house for the naming or do it at our own house or in the Church?.
“Why must it be in her lover’s house? With her action, I strongly believe that she must have been impregnated by that same lover of hers, Gbenga,” he said.
According to him, he sent his wife packing because he saw her and a man kissing behind a trailer. The 50-year-old pastor said that he was not dating any of the sisters in the Church, neither did he impregnate any member of the church.
“I am not sleeping with any of my female members, I am praying for them to get their own husbands,” he said.
The Pastor said that his wife was troublesome, that she fight with his members, friends and even his tenants. The respondent consented to the dissolution of the marriage, saying he too was no longer interested.
The Court President, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case to September 26 for further hearing.
